"STORYTELLER'S RETREAT" gets its name from the original owner of the house (Carl Sharpe) who was born, raised and also resided in the house his entire life.
Carl was known in the community as a "Storyteller"who throughout his life enjoyed having friends, neigbours, and visitors alike drop by for a chat. During those gatherings which many times included song and dance, there were stories of the earlier residents of the community, the hardships they endured as well as the fun times they enjoyed, all while helping build this small community and living the traditional Newfoundland outport life.
Before his passing in 2007, Carl put his life and many of those stories on paper, when he published.......
"Memories in the life of a Twillingate Man".
